Damp proofing
In our trade we tend to come across damp walls a lot, especially in older buildings. Damp can be the cause of a few different issues but mainly due to air flow or the lack of it.In past times trades have been known to use cement rather than lime which stops the building from breathing which results in damp and mould build up.
This can be resolved by raking out the old cement mortar and replacing with a traditional lime mortar and also adding air bricks to increase air flow.
