TB Traditional Building has spent the last few months rennervating Foxcote mill, Shoscombe. Mentioned in the doomsday book the mill is believed to date back to 1066 but unfortunately it was left to dilapidate over the last 50 years.

To begin with we started with the structural work replacing any damaged lintels, rebuilding the window jams, raking out and repointing the walls making ready to lime plaster.

Working on listed buildings can certainly test you as you just don’t know what you are going to find. Believe it or not, it can be positive, for instance, last year whilst lifting he screed in the Mill, to our astonishment was the most beautiful blue lias flagstone floor. This is now in the process of being restored, complete with underfloor heating beneath and we become a feature of the mill.

If you look at our Gallery you will see that we often reveal and renovate fire places. Whether this means raking out and repointing the breast or fitting the surround itself. We can also help with the supply or design and build of a stone surround from scratch and carry out all forms of Building renovation Bath.
